Cadillac Up for Review

Just read on AdAge's website today that Cadillac is putting their account up for review. Furthermore that Modernista Boston, the indie agency that's handled the account has no intention to fight for it. Modernista was responsible for the very popular campaign featuring celebrities like Kate Walsh.

I'm honestly surprised, considering the quality of the work Modernista was putting out, although the article did mention that GM couldn't afford to keep working with an independent agency. And in terms of giving up, I suppose Modernista just saw the writing on the wall. I mean how many times does an account go up for review and the incumbent ends up keeping it?

Vinta Crackers - "Finger"

I know it's been a while since I posted anything, but I've been pretty busy with classes, and projects and tests and whatnot.

Here's a downright bizarre yet hilarious commercial for Vinta Crackers by Zig Toronto called "Finger."

If you've ever owned a parrot you know exactly how nasty they can be sometimes and this hit that right on the money.

I've always been a fan of the ad campaign for Halo 3 by McCann Erickson, and the newest installment in the franchise Halo 3: ODST follows suit. I'm not sure if McCann is still involved but its great all the same.

My First Post

Welcome everybody to Persuasion Inc. I chose the name because this blog is gonna be all about advertising. We Mad Men (yeah, that's right) pride ourselves on making people do what we want them to do, hence, Persuasion Inc. In fact if I ever start up my own shop, I think I'll call it that. Although that might be a little on the nose, telling people what we do, thus defeating the purpose.

I digress, anyway I plan on blogging about advertising. Ad trends, standout ads, sucky ads, etc. You can bet when the Superbowl runs around you'll hear from me.

So until next time, my loyal hypothetical followers, farewell... and stay classy.
